If the worst was to happen and Catraxx stopped working do the members know of anything that comes close.

In my opinion the list from the FAQ hasn't changed.
"There are a number of softwares available that catalog various collections. The front runner is Collectorz (www.collectorz.com) They offer a Book, Music, Video, Comic and Game cataloging software. Other prominent developers of collecting software include: Readerware(www.readerware.com) Books, Music, Video Code:Aero (www.codeaero.com) Movie, Music" <<--- I see that Code:Aero is no longer being developed..

Probably worth noting that when CodeAero ceased development of their products, they made the existing versions freeware. I think that they had a book catalog program too, but I think that they sold it a few years ago.
(Note: I tried a demo of these years ago and didn't move forward with those products and know very little about their functionality.)

I did develop a program that allows me to export the data of Catraxx/CatVids and BookCat to an SQLite database and to a MariaDB. The intention still is to develop a lite version of the programs when there is enough time at hand. the only thing that gets lost is the formatted info for the notes fields - I did not use it and therefore did not spend time to convert it to an alternative.
I actually had a mobile viewer on iOS and I (privately have one on Android) - still on my list for the nearer future. As both operating systems support SQLite I think this will be the way to go.

Hello there, These days I have read of an app called BookBuddy written for Apple by Kimico and I thought that this would "also" be the future of having on my phone my book's collection in order to check and eventually to avoid buying a duplicate. What do you think about it? Would it be great to have a "new" BookCAT for Apple?

Is it possible to have the program to compare it? I did the same thing, I eports the "Bookcat" .mdb on "Navicat Premium" and created the MySQL database, My idea would be to work online, on PHP code, I'm working on it The problem is synchronization between "Bookcat" and mysql data
suggestions are accepted for this
